Are you tired of disorganized reusable shopping bags? Do you forget to bring reusable shopping bags to the store? The Tote Buddy is your solution. It’s the world’s first reusable bag organizer!
One thing we did religiously when living in Hong Kong, was bring our own reusable shopping bags everywhere we went. I kept them in the stroller basket since we didn’t have a car there. You can see the environmental effects of pollution and waste in the air in China, as well as on various news stories. Here in La Jolla, I feel shielded from those kinds of stories a little bit so I was forgetting to bring my reusable bags to the grocery store half the time. Some grocery store employees use way too many plastic bags, though I know they are doing their best under rushed circumstances. I hate seeing the piles of plastic bags accumulate, though I do take them to VONS for recycling.
I use Envirosax (see LJM Shop) a lot, because I love that they roll up tightly and have cute patterns. They are NOT great for grocery shopping, however, if you are carting home bottles of olive oil, wine, etc. You need a bag with a supported flat bottom where bottles can stand upright rather than risk flopping over and breaking.
The Tote Buddy comes with 1 or 3 large reusable flat bottom bags, depending on which option you choose. You can fit A LOT in these reusable bags. The Tote Buddy organizes them into a slim, flat case that you can easily keep in your car or house. I have to keep it in the car 100% of the time, otherwise I’ll forget. I slide it between the front passenger seat and center console so that it’s barely noticeable. I also bought reusable wine bottle totes from Bevmo that I now keep in The Tote Buddy. Right after I unload the groceries, I put the bags back in The Tote Buddy and put the entire thing under my purse which always goes in the car with me. It’s auto pilot now.
Other Tote Buddy Features:
- Made of 100% recyclable materials
- Adjustable strap with velcro closures
- Holds up to 10 reusable grocery bags
- 22.5″ L X 15.25″ W
Easy to store. Easy to carry. Easy to use. If it gets dirty, you can just wipe it down. I use it primarily for grocery shopping. The only “con” I can think of really is that it’s a little bit big or sometimes I’ll take out one bag for a small grocery trip, leave The Tote Buddy in the car and then forget to put the one bag back in. The latter is my fault and I don’t think the size should or will distract anyone from using it. The Tote Buddy comes in black or floral pattern and is priced from $9.99 – $12.99 plus shipping and handling. The Tote Buddy is a product of Momentum 1, which is a San Diego based company!
I hope The Tote Buddy encourages more people to bring reusable bags to the store. If you would like to buy The Tote Buddy, you can order it online here. It would make a great holiday gift!

This looks like a great product. I’m guilty of always forgetting my reusable bags and when I do remember them, they turn into a frustrating mess in the cart. I’m already a follower and love your blog – I spent most of my childhood in La Jolla and miss it so.

yep, it’s true this is one area of my life that I haven’t gotten together, I have bags (a lot of them) and I fail to use them and when I start seeing my groceries go into plastic bags the guilt sets in. This tool would definately help b/c my bags are different shapes and sizes.

I am really good when I go grocery shopping I keep the bags in my car so it is easy, but the item here and there I am not so good at…… a small tote I could carry with me would be awesome and would help a lot!!

I love reusable bags!!! I use them every week. But I can’t keep them in the car, or I’ll forget….so I leave them next to the door and it makes me remember

This is a genius idea! I usually keep 4-5 reuseable bags in my car as I have a tendency to leave one in the kitchen once I put away the food. Once I get to the last bag and it’s not enough for all the groceries I’ve purchased, I end up carrying the items in my purse or my arms and hoping nothing drops on my way back to the car. This tote would be perfect! Thanks for sharing this! =)

My problem with reusable bags is it’s a bit inconvenient to carry over 4 or 5 at once. They don’t fit in each other sometimes, this is a great idea of tote buddy, wish I have one!

I do have a couple of canvas bags for shopping, but must confess I always forget to bring them, even if I leave them in the car. I have a busy 6 yr old and a infant and maybeif I had something like this I could throw it in the diaper bag, and remember. Thanks!

This is a great giveaway:) I just recently bought my first reusable bag; well let’s just say that it was not of good quality. I was walking to my car and the bottom fell out:( Though I was discouraged from buying/using reusable shopping bags, I know that I want to be the example for my son and for other shoppers with my “NEW CUTE” reusable shopping bag that I won from La Jolla Mom:)

What a great idea! And some of the colors are beautiful! Well, I ALWAYS forget my reusable bags! I have bought them at the grocery store, have my groceries put in them, unload them at home and store them away to be forgotten the next trip. Then I buy another one or two and do the same thing! UGH! Well, this is a nicer idea and I would love to be entered to win one!!

I ALWAYS forget to bring my reusable grocery totes. I buy them, load them up and unload them and put them away, forgetting for next time! These are gorgeous! And I would love to win one!

A tote buddy would rock. I keep a reusable bag full of reusable bags in my car next to the front seat. It’s bulky and messy, and my hubby hates it, but it helps me remember to take them in the store when I go shopping. This would make things so much neater!

I will take them and put them on the front door with my keys as soon as soon as I unload them so I do not forget them. If I do forget them I will sometimes not take any bags and just unload into the back of the car where I have a cooler.
I’m terrible about forgetting mine. This is such a handy idea!

I love using reusable bags, less trash in the landfills and at home. I also love it that they are sturdier, nothing worse than carrying some 2 ltrs of soda pop and it breaks through and hits the ground! The tote buddy looks like a pretty neat compliment to the bags… and it would be a big help in reminding me to use my bags for more than just grocery shopping.

I always forget to bring reusable totes back down to the car. If they’re in the car I use them, but if I don’t bring them down then they don’t end up getting used
Not only do I forget to use them, but they wind up tossed all about my car. The tote buddy would be a great way to keep them organized and in plain sight so I would use them more. It would also help keep them from getting wrinkled and torn.
I would SO love this! Thanks for the chance.

SOME DO NOT LAST LONG FOR WILL NOT CARRY HEAVY ITEMS
I LOVE my reusable bags! We actually got canvas bags at Trader Joes about 3yrs ago and I’ve been addicted ever since. I now have a mish-mash of canvas bags, bags that are pretty much the size and shape of brown paper bags but I think are plastic-coated nylon, and a few of the cheaper once-plastic woven bags with plastic bottoms. Unfortunately, the last don’t hold up well. I always have a bag with me (doubles as a diaper/toy/snack bag) to catch small purchases and tend to leave a few in each of our cars for shopping trips.
I watched the YouTube clip- I think this would be very handy! I have different sized/shaped bags so they tend to get a bit out of control- the Tote Buddy looks like it would help and probably keep the plastic bag bases from cracking like they do when they’re “floating loose.”

Living in NYC, I tend to buy just a few items at a time from grocery stores, so I always keep a smaller re-usable tote in my purse that’s perfect for a small load!
I always thought they were a good idea but I was hesitant about bringing them out to shop with.
I have several reusable bags and forget to bring them almost always! This bag would be great for me. Thanks

I do use reusable bags and have gotten much better in remembering to take them in the store with me. This is a great little invention! I carry about 6 bags and have to flop them all in the cart under my purse and this would keep them nice and neat and organized and ready to use. I love the concept!

I think this looks like a wonderful product that would help me tremendously. I hate the hassle of trying to lug in several shopping bags of all shapes and sizes and then they take up too much room in my shopping cart. This would keep me organized and much more likely to want to take the bags in the first place.
I tend to forget my reusable bags, but I don’t think I would if I had this super cute tote! Thanks for the giveaway!

I got in the habit of using reusable bags when I lived in Germany- it’s definitely encouraged more over there than it is here. Thanks for the giveaway!
I think the Tote Buddy would really help, especially in this lovely floral motif which you couldn’t help but notice on your kitchen table or counter before you go shopping (duller colors seem to blend in with everything). Yes it’s easy to forget to bring bags, especially if you go to the grocery store impulsively on the way home from somewhere else! A great giveaway!
I always have good intentions on using reusable bags, but I tend to forget them sitting by the door. When I do remember to take them to the car, they end up getting shoved under something or squished into a corner and again forgotten to take into the store.
I remember to take my bags with me when I am not in a big hurry

I have several bags, but almost always forget to take them, plus sometimes they’re all over the place. It would be great to have them together and bundled in a way that make them easy to carry into the store and take little space in the cart. Thanks.

I love using resusable bags! Unfortunately, because they’re stowed away in a cupboard, I usually forget them until I walk into the market.. This product would definitely help me stay organized. I would be able to keep my bags somewhere a little more handy, which will allow them to stay on my mind. What a great product!

I try to remember my reusable bags but I usually forget. After I carry everything upstairs and put it away I don’t feel like making a special trip to put them back in the car. I need something that I can attach to my purse or hang over the door knob next to my purse. Maybe that way I won’t forget.
